_ He keeps the door locked
_ He keeps the door white
_ They have the house painted
_ They make the house clean.
_ They have the house painted
_ They make the house clean.
Notice the use of an adjective or past partiticples as a complements:
_ He pushed the door open.
_ He painted the house white
_ She cut her hair. It is short now./She cut her hair short.
_ The boy washed their shirts untill they were clean./ The boy washed their shirt untill clean.
_ The table was wet. Mary wiped it until it was dry./ Mary wiped it untill dry.
_ The cold weather froze the milk. It is solid./ The cold weather froze the milk solid.
Note: The complement in this pattern can consist of either an adjective, a past participle, or a past participle + adjective.
_ I want the house white.
_ I want the house painted.
_ I want the house painted white.
_ I want the room clearned.
_ I want the radio fixed.
